MEIR CARROT &
THE HAPPY SHOPPER
A Food Bank Tale
MEIR CARROT and
THE HAPPY SHOPPER
An entertaining tool to teach children about need, giving, receiving,
and how they can make a difference.

Join a boy named Danny,
a magical carrot named Meir,
and a bunch of other characters on an adventure that begins when Danny and his mom go to volunteer at their local food bank.

Snuggle up to read this lively, inspiring, children's book,
and enjoy precious moments of
joy and education, TOGETHER .
Written for reading or singing aloud, with a rhyming text that is both touching and jaunty, you will be energized by the sheer delight of this

bright, boisterous, and timely tale of sharing and caring.
Madelaine Black was inspired to create “Meir Carrot and the Happy Shopper” when she volunteered at the Meir Panim food distribution center at Or Akiva, Israel, in the Summer of 2020.

Together with Shirley Waisman- one of Israel’s most popular and talented children’s book artists-
Madelaine introduces a colorful cast of characters,
based on the real people she encountered,
along with personified talking and singing vegetables, and engaging details.
Inspired by the shining example of a caped carrot,
Madelaine sets a rhythm to her message of positive actions, and how being kind and thoughtful matters.
This is a perfect way of promoting all food banks which support communities, and most especially Meir Panim.
